Can You Float On Potato Chip Bags

- Woo, things are happenin'. It's gonna be fun. There's nothing like opening a bag of chips, and realizing it's 90% air. Yeah, they tell us that the air is meant to cushion the bags of chips, and blah, blah, blah, whatever. But I think we're getting duped. So, today, we're gonna take a bunch of bags of chips, tape them together, make a boat, and we're gonna sail somewhere. You might think it's crazy, but some kids in Korea did it, and we're gonna do it too. Yeah, it's gonna work. - Some factors that come into play that will determine if this experiment works or fails, are the number of bags of potato chips. You need to take into account the weight of the chips. A very small factor would be the temperature of the water. The density of the water depends on temperature. My prediction is a little less than 200 bags of potato chips. And I just wanna wish good luck to the experimenters. With the hopes that the person does not get wet. Whoo, alright, so, we got around 200 bags of chips. Masking tape. We're gonna tape 'em all together, and we're gonna see if this works. Let's do this. (upbeat music) So, we are in the car right now with the potato chip bag on our way to our friend Kevin's house. We are gonna take these, and we're gonna put them in his swimming pool, and I am going to float. Or I might drown, I don't know. (rock music) So, here we are at our friend Kevin's house, and this is his pool. This is our, um, chip boat. It's not the prettiest thing I've ever seen. I'm a little concerned with how small it is. I'm in too deep now. About to go in. Takin' the mic off. Let's do this. Do I throw it in? One, two, three. It's floating right now. - [Friend] It's floating away. (elevator music) Ahh, man! (laughing) One, two, Oh, it's so cold. (laughing) Um, I'm not drowning, so that's pretty good news. I didn't actually expect this to happen. (screaming) (laughing) Lay's no! So, it's been 40 days now. I've been stranded in the middle of this pool for quite some time. There's nothing to eat but these bags of chips, but if I eat them, I'm gonna drown. I feel like this is the Titanic, and Jack is just drowning, and I'm like, I can't do it, even for you. (laughing) I have to save myself. So, all in all, I think this proves that there is way too much air in chip bags. I mean, come on, I'm floating on them. And, now I can eat. Without fear of drowning. (crunching) Chips are still good. Does someone want a chip? Kevin? Kevin?
